During the fall of 2010, real estate developer and attorney Aaron Jones was convicted of arson in connection with the fire that destroyed his home.
The family of Aaron Jones is convinced of his innocence and is leading an investigation to find out who committed this crime against Aaron. All the evidence, taken together, supports the theory that Aaron was framed by someone who wanted to destroy him. Significant exculpatory evidence presented at his trial was ignored or disregarded. A $50,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of such persons. If you have any information relevant to this case, email aaronjonesjustice@live.com or call 501.249.8210.
In May 2008, Aaron's house was broken into by at least two armed intruders. He was bound and blind-folded while a gun was placed to his head. Money was stolen from the top drawer in his bedroom, but nothing else was taken and the house was not rummaged through. The house was doused with diesel and lit. Approximately ten minutes after he was bound Aaron smelled smoke and realized he needed to get out of the house. He hopped out of bed (with his feet bound) and then crawled/hopped to the door of his bedroom that was left open by the intruders.
Several objects were planted in the house and garage to make it appear that Aaron had caused this crime himself. Here is some of the relevant evidence that needs to be questioned:
A crow bar was used to enter the house and then "planted" in the tool box in the garage. It was never tested by the federal government for fingerprints. If Aaron had been trying to make this look like a break in, why would he plant the crow bar in his own toolbox? Wouldn't he have dropped the crow bar at the door? Does anyone know anything about this crowbar?
The back end of Aaron's vehicle was doused with diesel to make it appear he had spilled this fuel while bringing it in to burn his own house down. Gloves were thrown into the back end of the vehicle. These gloves did not contain Aaron's DNA.
A hair was found in one of the gloves that did not belong to Aaron. Does anyone know anything about these gloves?
The gas cans used in the fire were never fingerprinted. Does anyone know anything about these gas cans?
A long hair (burned) was found stuck to an envelope on the kitchen counter that was never tested by the federal government. It obviously did not belong to Aaron. Does anyone know how this hair might be connected to the real criminals? Interestingly even the government conceded that this hair did not belong to Aaron.
A cigarette butt was found in the attic where diesel was poured in an attempt to start a fire in the attic - but this butt was not tested for fingerprints. Aaron's DNA was not on it and he has never smoked. Does anyone know a smoker who might have burned Aaron's house down?
The duct tape used to bind Aaron was never tested for fingerprints. Does anyone know anything about this tape?
A hair was found on duct tape in the trash that was DNA tested and which did not belong to Aaron. Who did that hair belong to?
The federal government asserted that some duct tape found in the waste can was used by Aaron in "practicing" to tie himself up. Aaron's DNA was found on this tape but the government's own DNA expert pointed out that anything in the trash would probably have had Aaron's DNA on it since everything mingles in the trash. Shouldn't this have been questioned?
The federal government asserted that the "science of fire" proved that Aaron couldn't have gotten out of the house precisely the way he said he did given the way the fire was started; but the notion of a "science of fire" has been disproved by many fire experts. In other words, there are multiple ways to interpret the fire evidence, not one definitive way.
Aaron's fire alarm had been disconnected before the fire. Does anyone know anything about who might have done this?
Aaron's tractor (worth around $20,000) was stolen the day of the fire. Who stole that tractor and was it stolen in payment for burning down the house. The tractor was stolen from …on… Someone called Aaron's cell phone the day of the fire for information on the tractor. Later that day the tractor was missing. Who made that call and were they connected to the real arsonists?
There was a trail of money found outside the house. Who took that money from the house and what happened to the rest of it?
A neighbor said in deposition that she heard a car speed away right before the fire trucks/police got to the fire scene. Who did that car belong to?
Two men in the Electric Cowboy, a bar in Little Rock, were overheard talking about the fire and one said some like this: "Judge Jones got what he deserved. You can be sure that the police will never find out who did this."
The family of Aaron Jones is certain that someone was hired to do this "job." We want to know who did the hiring and who bound Aaron and set the fire. If you have any clues as to who might have committed this crime, email aaronjonesjustice@live.com or call 501.249.8210.
